JAPAN EXPO 2010 IN PARIS : 4

July 1, 2010 : Japan Expo -Day 1-

Before the opening time, there were many people around the Japan Expo event hall.

The passage from the station to the event hall was crowded with lots of visitors in spite of it being early in the morning.

Bonjour, dear Prince! You've been working so hard since early this morning.

Our booth was opened before 10 a.m. I goofed off at work and strolled about the hall. I saw not only a bunch of Japanese comic books, magazines, and video games, but also Japanese traditions such as "judo", "shuji (calligraphy)", "zazen (seated meditation)", "Nihon-buyo (classical Japanese Dance)", and “Takoyaki (octopus dumplings). Likewise there were hundreds of masqueraders. Some seemed to dress up for Halloween rather than for "cosplay". It seems strange but I was getting happy while strolling through there. This was so fun! I can't tell you what was so fun but being at the site itself was fun.

The vast site had been pretty crowded since morning.

The Judo players were all French. Their movement looked smoother than Japanese.

People were digging into "shuji".

Were they familiar? I need to study more.

Walking in a group is a bit dangerous. Watch out for them.

The bear was kind enough to give out candies while walking around.

He looked hot. We couldn't get close to him any more.

People in diverse costumes flocked to the event.

When it comes to our booth, it's not so crowded. The booth needs more light. It's because we scrimped on equipping spotlights. (It costs 70000 Japanese Yen!) We've learned "Tightfistedness in moderation". So we bought some flashlights in the city and set them up on our booth. It became brighter a little. But it looked kind of strange. Anyway, it's all right. Hopefully we'll have more visitors tomorrow.

It seemed dim…

Compared to the stores on both sides, our booth was dark, indeed.

We bought 5 flashlights at 1500yen/each and hung them up.

It became brighter a bit. OK. Someone said that it's like an aquarium, but we don't mind.

I'm afraid that people might get hit in the face by the light. A little scared…

I saw Tour Eiffel in the distance on the way back to our hotel.
